GLOBALST 702 – Urgent Global Issues – Enrol today!

Back for it’s third year, you can enrol today for GLOBALST 702 – Urgent Global Issues this Winter!
This course has an interdisciplinary methodology, with rotating instructors from across Social Sciences, giving students a chance to explore pressing issues with experts in the field.
Course Description:
In the fifth decade of contemporary globalization processes the world confronts multiple and simultaneous challenges. Adopting an innovative approach, this graduate seminar course examines, but does not exhaust, a range of global issues urgent for our future and collective well-being. Aiming to give students a comprehensive and critical understanding of these issues and the connections among them, it will be collaboratively taught by McMaster’s own experts from various disciplines in Social Sciences. At the end of the semester, students are expected to present a final group project (eg. a poster or video clip) that has the potential to engage the public through accessible and effective communication.
Each class will start with a one-hour lecture on the seminar topic by the instructor(s) followed by in-depth discussion of the required weekly readings. In-person participation in class and discussions is required.
